Geordie’s approach to photography is shaped by a search for authenticity and letting his sitters speak for themselves. Based in his early training as a documentary photographer he remains committed to being both present and nimble in his process. Whether working on a large-scale fashion shoot, a one-on-one portrait or a personal project, Geordie is committed to stripping away artifice to capture something real and effortless.

By having a curatorial background from his post at The FADER as a photo director, Wood’s practice demonstrates a collaborative nature, regardless of a project's scale. Conceptually, Wood’s practice is binded by visual narratives that focus on his sitters and their respective environments through a minimalist, transparent lens that doesn’t hide his process.

Geordie is a New York based artist who graduated from The Newhouse School at Syracuse University with a degree in documentary photography.
